Grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be installed at repair garages, gasoline stations,
car washes, and other industrial or commercial establishments, where necessary in
the opinion of the board or MMSD to prevent discharge of sand, flammable wastes, oil
or grease in amounts exceeding the limits of this section. All such traps shall be
constructed and maintained by the owner at the owner's expense, in accordance with
the state plumbing code and the specifications of the director, and shall be readily
accessible for cleaning and inspection.
