§ 40-128. Hydrant connections.

Latest version.
  • In cases where no other supply is available, permission may be granted by the utility to connect to a hydrant. No hydrant shall be used until it is equipped with a sprinkling valve. In no case shall any valve be set or moved except by a member of the utility. No valve will be set or moved until the applicant pays for the setting and for the water to be used at the scheduled rates in accordance with the city fee schedule. In the use of a fire hydrant supply, the hydrant valve will be set at the proper opening by the utility when the sprinkling valve is set. If the water is to be used through iron pipe connections, all such pipe installations shall have the swing joint to facilitate quick disconnection from the fire hydrant. When the applicant is finished using any hydrant, they shall notify the utility.
